GEORGIA AGRI-LEADERS FORUM FOUNDATION, INC.

The MISSION of the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum Foundation, Inc. is to provide a forum for developing individual leaders skilled in communications, educated in local, national and world affairs, familiar with the changing needs of our society, and prepared to meet the present and future challenges.

The SELECTION of Class Participants is made by a Selections Committee which selects the class participants through submitted applications and personal interviews. The major criteria in the evaluation process are: leadership integrity and effectiveness; communication and analytical skills; potential for personal growth; commitment to Georgia agriculture and related industries; and commitment to program participation. Participants portray a geographical, ethnic and occupational balance of farmers, owners and employees of agri-related industries. Spouses of class members are invited and encouraged to participate Study Institutes.

The STUDY INSTITUTE PROGRAM of the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum is an intensive exposure to a wide range of issues and policy discussion. These range from the economy to governmental process, as well as, a liberal opportunity to broaden leadership skills. The one-year program consists of six Study Institutes covering issues affecting those committed to agriculture and agribusiness in Georgia. Four In-State Institutes are structured in a three day/two night format; a Government-in-Session (Atlanta/Washington) Institute covers eight days; and a National Travel Experience Institute in another state covers six days. Each institute stresses leadership skills and generates sensitivity to pertinent issues, giving the participants an in-depth understanding of what it takes to get involved in bringing about solutions to political, economical, cultural, social and agricultural concerns.

The GRADUATES of Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum will have been challenged and motivated, gaining a broader knowledge of issues confronting our state, nation and world. They will have cultivated a network of close relationships with other leaders of various backgrounds from around the state which shall prove to be invaluable. The graduates will be equipped with the leadership skills needed to make a positive difference. Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum ensures for the future the legacy of outstanding and sound agriculture/agribusiness leadership and enables Georgia to remain one of our Nation’s leaders in agriculture!
